|Official name:||The Forge|
|First Appearance:||Son of Vulcan Vol 2 2|
The Forge was the name of an extradimensional home of the line of superheroes that had taken the name of Vulcan. It was actually created in Humanity's past when the White Martians terrorized the planet by masquerading as the Greek deities. Their reign of terror and infliction of cruelty also saw them studying mankind due to their ability to hold the metagene within their bodies. White Martian experiments ultimately crippled Human DNA preventing them from becoming a race of proto-gods. However, they continued their experimentations which led to the accidental creation of a metavirus that passed from one user to another - granting the host flame-like powers. This allowed them to drive the White Martians away and slay them. The left behind White Martian technology was scavenged by the first metavirus infected Human who adopted the name of Vulcan. From the equipment that had been taken, Vulcan created weapons to fight the extraterrestrial invaders whilst using a Martian saucer ship as his home which became known as the Forge. This vessel was located in Stillspace - a place in between dimensions which was used as Vulcan's headquarters and where he could remain hidden until his sworn enemies emerged. The existence of the Forge had been a long tradition in the Line of Vulcan as the Fires of Vulcan were passed down from one user to the next.
The vessel was anchored in Stillspace and possessed a gravity furnace which powered it; both of which were capable of being deactivated which would destroy the Forge.
Son of VulcanEdit
By the 20th Century, the Forge was a highly advanced base of operations that was operated by the latest Vulcan - Erich Thonius. The facility now was operated by an advanced artificial intelligence known as Praetor and was also home to a female android known as Pandora. From there, the Forge was used by Thonius to oeprate as the superhero Vulcan where he did battle against numerous supervillains whilst keeping a vigilant watch for the actions of the White Martians. Praetor was programmed to constantly ascertain the identity of Vulcan whenever he entered the Forge in order to prevent intruders from accessing the base. Security questions included asking one of the five laws with three attempts being allowed with failure leading to the AI destroying the facility.
- Son of Vulcan Vol 2 4 suggests that the Forge may actually be a in the Still Zone.
